Well it’s done! I haven’t even had the thing 24 hours…played some Wii Sports and some Twilight Princess and then when I got home tried to connect to WiiConnect24…got connected once and then was prompted to update my console…

which then resulted in the system being updated to 2.0U

now whenever I go to connect to WiiConnect24 it tries to test the network

eventually resulting in this message…

“Error Code: 110213 There is a problem with the WiiConnect24 service. Please try again later.”
Way to be cryptic Nintendo! So I look it up at the online code lookup(which only works in IE, but thats another issue altogether!)
I get this solution…
Connnect 24 Errors 110210, 110211, 110212, 110213 Wii Connect 24 Errors If you are receiving the following error message: ” There is a problem with the Wii Connect 24 service. Please try again later ” …we ask that you call as at (800) 255-3700
so I call them up and I speak to Michael or Dan(Can’t remember at this point) and after reading the message to him he says I have a hardware error and will have to be sent a new console…so I’m done with my Wii for a couple days as I can’t transfer the saves from Zelda anymore…the new Wii is on the way but will take 3-4 business days…
Anyone else having the same issue?
Update: Now my unit is showing Backordered!

This is EXACTLY the issue I’m having, down to the untransferrable Zelda save. Man, what a bummer.
So you can still play games on it and it still works but right now your wii connect 24 doesnt?
SO WHAT wait for the next update and when it comes out get it.
Destin,
you misread it…the unit itself is playable but it will never be able to complete the test connection therfore it will never update itself…

I cannot even get pass the wirless internet connection settings. Every time it attempts to test connection if fails and I get some lame a$$ error.
This has seriously hurt my experience with the Wii,.
ugh, this happened to me and another guy i know… ugh… not cool
Same problem. Took me over a day to get thru tech support.
They first told me I could pick up a new one at a repair center. I asked for a number of the repair center and called.
Repair Center said that Nintendo misinformed me for telling customers this.
He said he got quite a few calls in the hour he had been open from wii owners with this problem.
Good thing I didn’t take the 45 minute drive there to replace my console.
So I sit and wait.
Do they actually charge my credit card for this till they receive my old one back?
Exactly the same issue I’m having, it has been dugg. Just got off the phone with a nintendo CSR and they are sending me a new one (3-4 days). There is a problem with the flash RAM in some models and the update is not applied properly.
this is disturbing. just picked mine up and will install it tonight. does anyone know if the software update HAS to be performed in order to connect to the internet? Assuming the update is what’s frying the flash memory, maybe catastrophic failure can be avoided until they post a new update that is safe. Anyone?
The fact that you got through to tech support is a miracle. My very dead unit (won’t even show anything on screen now) is sitting here, as I call Nintendo several times, each time getting “…sorry, we have a high call volume, call back when it’s calmer…” and then they hang up after 10 minutes on hold.
Emailing hasn’t even gotten a “thanks for your email, we’ll get back to you response.”
I called the GameCrazy I bought it at, and they want to help, but they have no units left.
My Wii is having serious problems with the Remote. It worked fine when I first used it, but now it only works intermittently, and when I hold it on its left-hand side. I’ve tried pretty much everything I can think of, and it doesn’t help. Also, now when I load Zelda it tells me to connect my alread-connected Nunchuk.
I’m assuming that my system is dead. Either it was due to a problem during my system update, or due to the fact that everything seemed to go to hell when I put Super Monkey Ball 2 (GC) into the drive.
I can’t believe I can’t transfer my Zelda save to my new console…I havn’t even called yet; this is terrible news. At least Nintendo is advertising a rather quick turn-around (hopefully they will practice good business etiquette and fulfill our needs before shipping out more consoles).
Maybe we’re starting to see why Nintendo chose to launch in North America before Japan…they knew there were going to be a lot of problems and decided to pawn these probelms off on the NA market so that everything is butter when it launches in Japan.
Change the channel on your wireless router to 1 turn the Wii back on and get it to try the internet again and BAM it’ll connect and download the new updates again!!!
If 1 doesn’t work use channel 11.
Please trust me and do this I don’t know why it works but it does I found it in some article on the Wii support site for improving internet performance.
Aphallatosis,
Nintendo is reporting a hardware defect is causing these problems, which is why they are sending the new units out. My unit is doing this as well, and it connects and sends traffic conntest.nintendo.com as well as other locations, but fails the test. So, changing the broadcast channel for the wireless network won’t help this problem at all. This really only has an effect if the channel you’re running on is too cluttered with other networks and they are interfering.
I had that same problem and upon calling Nintendo, they told me they didn’t even know what the error meant. So I took it upon myself to re-format the system… it worked. So, yeah, just try re-formatting it if you get that error.
i got the same error, i tried reformatting and i still get it. Nintendo customer service line is busy as hell, trying my best to thru to them. Sigh…this is so disappointing for me.
if you are getting a new sytem, try using an SD card to transfer saves….unless you saying that you cant do that. you can get 1 gig SD card for $20 at best buy, even though i think its a mail in rebate.

I have the same problem. After over an hour on the phone with Nintendo my new unit is on the way.
Just tried to call the Nintendo number… its busy. Must be a lot of affected units…
Mine is bricked.
Fuck. Played Zelda for 7 hours last night. Came home today, turned it on, black screen.
Ejected disk, tried again, black screen.
Unplugged everything, waited 5 minutes it boots up, I was so happy. Move my cursor over towards the game channel and it freezes. reboot
This time I go to the message board, click the back button, freezes and the back button becomes distorted (artifacts/pixaleted).
Tried with and without games, keeps freezing.
Tried different wiimotes, tried resyncing.
Now it get’s stuck on the Warning screen.
SUCKS.
This was bought at the Toys r’ Us in Times Square, NYC on launch night at about 12:45, I was one of the first people to buy one, I guess I paid the price.
Anyway, they’re shipping a new one 3-4 days, we’ll see….
I bought a wii at toysrus at and waited in line for 9 hours, reggie was there and they gave out all kinds of free stuff…
anyone i post this because i want to tell people IT IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE UPDATES…
im sure its just a bad batch of flash chips…
my wii updated just fine (even if it took an 30minutes-an hour…) and the updates are not the problem… you should try to update to see if you have they flash (maybe wifi chip) problem… its not like it will brick your wii…
sorry to hear about your case mickey, i guess i had more luck with chosing my wii from the massive pile there…
Are you going to have to send in your broken system, or do they not care about it?
Because that seems like a lot of hassle to me.
They are sending me a new one and a label to send the old one back all the shipping is being taken care of…
I had the same problem.
I took Gunshin’s advice, reformatted, after backing up saved games to SD, and transferring Miis to a controller.
Seems to be working fine now.
Try that, better than sending it off if it works.
[…] AW: News Von Den Amis - vor einer Minute Hallo. Habe grade mal so rumgesurft und eine Seite gefunden, auf der zu den Problemen mit Wii in USA Stellung genommen wird (von den Usern). Well, it seemed to work fine after reformatting, but I couldn’t connect all the way to the Wii Shop, it got an error after the page to link it to mynintendo. I also can’t copy my saved games from the SD card back to the Wii memory.
Called Nintendo, they’re shipping me a new one. Oh well, worth a shot.
[…] “Error Code: 110213 There is a problem with the WiiConnect24 service. Please try again later.” One video game blogger witnessed this problem first hand and followed the neccessary prompts to fix this problem, needless to say thes error message can be best described as “F***ED”! A painful phonecall later he discovered that his Wii was going to be replaced but when the shipping status was checked on the Nintendo website, to his surprise, the order was on backorder. […]
My wii says error 32004 and sometimes it doesnt conecct at all.
But last night while i was updating everything were going smooth and i was 90% of the update but my lil’bro unplugged the router and i can’t download it anymore, could it be broken as well?
I would just like to say i experienced the same “110213 blah blah” error, read the comments on this site, but then proceeded to transfer every save onto my camera’s SD memory and all my Mii’s onto one of my remotes. Mine is also playing games (or, at least loaded them, i’m about to go play some zelda)
I went to reformat and noticed it said Channels could not be copied from SD cards. When you purchase a game from virtual console, it becomes a channel, right? Saved games, as far as i know, aren’t channels? Or am i wrong?
wow guys, dont you know anything about new consoles? when its a launch, you’re supposed to always test the internet and download updates first… as i can imagine, i would probably wanna get to playing zelda straight-away — but that’s no excuse. it’s your own fault that you lose 8 hours of zelda because you didnt do the update first.
Updated my Wii on Tuesday AM and recieved the same error message, problems etc at around 90%. Opened up the front of the Wii and the remote, pushed the red button on each (as per the manual reset instructions) and rebooted. Retried the update download and it completed to 100%, now everything works again (so far.. ha). I understand it is a hardware problem, but given that mine was fixed this way and had the same problems, perhaps not ALL are necessarily hardware. Or perhaps I screwed mine up even more, but at least I can use it again
i got the wii and mines is working perfectly when i first downloaded the update it froze but after that it works fine it sucks haveing to wait but can anyone tell me how to save the mii into the wiimote and how long will it b till nintendo release the update to use the weather channel and news and browser thanks.
Well,
I bought my wii at Times Square and flew back home overseas now. If anything happens (thank God it didn’t yet), I’m screwed. No Wiis will be sent to my house.

I got the 110213 error as well but I live in MEXICO, if I don’t get a replacement because I don’t live in North America I’m going to be really mad at Nintendo.
damn, 110213.
Dear pablo, you are in mexico but…I’M IN CHILE!!!!!
WHERE THE WORLD ENDS!!!!
nintendo, i want a solution.
I have the same problem with Wii connec 24 but my friend got his WII RIGHT AFTER ME AND HIS WORKS FINE. I guess only some Wii’s have this problem.
[…] So first I have my problem with the Wii now my latest trauma is with my XBox 360. I bought the new Rainbow Six Las Vegas last night and the one feature that I was excited about over Gears of War was the ability for the XBox Live Vision Cam to take a picture of my face and turn it into a character in the game. But everytime I do the profile picture the 360 just freezes up…stops the music and will not respond to anything on the controller. […]
I got my Wii launch day and another one today. The only problem that I had was the wii lossing the wireless connection. It would give me the error but I would try again and again till the system caught on to my torture. I did get error # blah blah, but after a few tries and clicks with the mote it worked. Sorry to hear about the systems having issues, be thankful we’re not dealing with meltdowns like the PS3 and 360s.
Yeah and I think Wii Connect 24 is having serious issues. That was the only thing that would not work today. I blame it on traffic and possible work on inner workings of nintendo.
Wish you luck.
The reason many of you can’t save to your SD cards is because that 2.0U update is to enable SD read/write access. Once you have that, you can save your Virtual Console games to your SD card (along with their game saves) without a problem. Good luck!
Also, to help with wireless, set your router to either channel 1 or 11 (not sure why, but Nintendo said to and it fixed my problems with the online store).
This happened to me too. My replacement’s arriving today though, so I’ll be quite pleased to get it out of the box!
My wii is having the same error code again.
I called nintendo and got through to michael, and he tried to help me as if it was a problem with the remote after I gave him the error code,
I have to call again, does anyone know what number to press on the help line in order to get to someone who knows about the issue?
I’ve got the same-but-even-worse problem… Not only does my show up this WiiConnect24 error, but it freezes in-game all the time and sometimes it won’t even TURN ON! I mean, I have to disconnect it from the power outlet for hours and then it would finally turn back on. I have to leave the internet off all the time, otherwise it would just freeze again and would have to wait several hours all over, just to play. I live in Brazil and bought my system through eBay. Can you imagine the problem I’ve got? I have to find a way to send it over to US to then have it back finally, and Nintendo does not do that. Thank God you are in the US!
I too have had the lovely error with my Wii Console with the “Error Code: 110213 There is a problem with the WiiConnect24 service. Please try again later.” Really enjoyed seeing that after all I waited. As for my lovely story it starts out with this past Tuesday woke up at 9 amand went to work from 11am-7pm. Ended up hearing that a local walmart was selling Wii’s from a fried and decided to investigate this after a few hours of mario kart, went to walmart at 10:30 pm. Sure enough what he said was true. Finally came home around 12 am played a few games until 1 am since I felt it was time to sleep. Layed in bed for a bit and sleep wasnt coming so I got back up and talked my brother into going over and waiting at the Walmart. So we drove over and got there around 1: 30 am, stood around for 4 hours just to get a ticket at 5 am, then another 3 hours to purchase the system. When I finally got the system I went home 8:30am set the system up after an hour shower, since the cold and snow really chilled the bones. It was all set up and I was pretty content to see that I finally managed to get the system after missing it by 3 people the 1st time. Configured the wireless network settings on the system, I was thinking alright so its all good, and all it wants is to update the system. Did that, 5 minutes go by with the updating, no problems. Check the shopping channel out, and a message about Configure wireless settings? Alright I thought I did that already and all was home free. Tried it 3 more times, and the same error kept showing up. Note after being awake all night my brain was in no mood for problems so I gave up and played the Wii sports, since I didn’t open Zelda up. I waited since open to play the game so I let it wait alittle longer when I had free hours. I went off to work and did 11am - 5pm. Finally home I went after Wii once again to solve this error. Tried reconfiguring it again, and finally decided to check online about this error code. What I found out didnt make the long day any better. I decide to call up Nintendo at 6 pm and was on the phone for at least 30 mins to an hr. I go through the whole automated system then finally over to a rep. I tell him that I have this error code, and ask him whats up with it. His responce was rather simple and no details into the cause of what happened. I ran through a few thoughts past him, “Is it possible I can just flash the entire and system?” etc, and all he could respond with was your going to need to send it into our tech service. Well he runs throught the process of what can be done, since a Wii not capable of net connection is not what I payed for. The best option for me was to have them send the box, I send my system, and they send me the new system. I finally end the call with whomever I was talking with, and I am suppose to have a email in my mail account. Well this is a whole branch off story with the phone call but to some it up there hasnt been an email for the last 24 hours in my account. and am still waiting. All I must do now is wait and see what is to come with my Wii problem. Thank you to all those whom read this, because you just need to type a story somedays to vent. Hopefully the next Wii I do get has no problems to complain about, if it does, well then I am going to be a rather bitter camper for awhile. Take care whom ever and sorry to all of you who have come across any problem whatever it may be.
Questions to Ana: Was it a quote new Wii, and unopened or was it opened and repackaged ? Also what did you pay for the console, hopefully you weren’t scammed by someone else.
My WII is still updating…
It’s one hour the the progress bar is at 90% ,, I dunno what to do.
Turn if off?
Reset. (How am I supposed to reset it BTW???)
matt,
i had identical problem as you, walmart wednesday morning(5 am for me, they had 6 i was 5th in line) and 110213 wednesday evening. they are sending me a new one…should be here monday or tuesday
I got the 110213 code , i live in Panama, i got my wii on the launch day.
i went to the store, and after a few days they are replacing it. They say that they called nintendo and is a world wide issue.
But im not sure to try using the internet when i get the new console . :S
Try leaving your Wii unplugged for a several minutes and plug it back in. Mine wasn’t showing anything on the screen after the update and I left it unplugged overnight and the next morning I plugged it back in and turned it on and it worked fine.
I think it resets some stuff or something. Also try the reformat memory and transfer your saves to SD first.
Yeah. I have to wait until christmas to open mine! Now I am afraid That mine will have this problem! What should I do!?!? Someone help me!!!!! I dont have a wireless router either, so can i still connect to the internet? What should I do!?!?
Dont Worry axel

Although I havn’t tried the wii connect 24 sevice, my wii will not register my sd card (the official one at that) and I desperately need to get my zelda game saves on the card!!! grrrrrrrrrrrr

Hello all –
I have had the same problems when I try to connect to the internet, but I have managed to fix them by setting the IP and DNS manually. So, if you have trouble updating or getting online, try entering your settings manually. Worked for me.
I am having the same probem as you guys. Can anyone tell me how to reformat my Wii?
Saludos desde Chile.
I have the same problem. I update my wii console then recive the error 110213. and try all the solutions buy it unable to connect to Internet anymore.
why nintendo don’t generate a cd update to resolve the problem?.
Or anyone know other solution?.
Thank you in advance
So everytime i try and access the weather this pops up…
“There is a problem with the Wii System Memory. You cannot use WiiConnect24. Return to the Wii Menu and follow the on-screen instructions. ”
uh…. except there are no on-screen instructions… so how do i see the weather!? huge disappointment.
when I play zelda it always goes to a black screen then tells me that it can not read the disc and to read the manul. I pull out the disc not a mark on it, spotless. I put it back in, it might do it again or not, then it starts working. does anybody have this proplem too?
…… 110213 errors are the devil and need to be killed i like the cd approach but i doubt it and im getting mine supposedly repaired and we will see if i can transfer my saved data to the same console only fixed
Does anyone have a problem spots on their main menu and also during games? Sometimes green spots, sometimes black on white? Only certain screens. With and without high Def cables. I might have to take the wii back to store, as I can not fix this. has anyone noticed how hot the wii gets? could it overheat maybe>?
Ok! Well, I found out wii(YUS!! I USED WII!) are getting weireless! so YAY!
Sorry for double posting but, the cd approach to updates would be perfect! the sad thing is, only nintendo has the power to do this! URRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!
Just call Nintendo ppl. Stop bickering and solve the problem by letting customer service help you.
The Steps…
1. Call Nintendo
2. Tell them your problem
3. They ship a new Wii for free to you
(arrives in 3-4 business days)
4. The Wii arrives
5. Put your old, defective Wii in the box the NEW Wii came in.
6. Ship it back to Nintendo
7. You ARE ALL SET
NOTICE - Even if you saved your data to an SD card prior to getting the new Wii, EVERYTHING will be lost, no matter what. It is terrible, but it is the truth!!!! The NEW Wii will not let you transfer the data. It says “you must first play the game to transfer data” If you play the game and come back, it then says “Data cannot be copied”
My wii freezes during the time to save a game especially on avatar. We have to turn off the system but then you have lost all your information. It has also froze during video scenes on Need for speed carbon. anyone have this problem?
Don’t expect the same level of customer service from Nintendo in the UK if you have this problem (as I do). You’ll be sh!t out of luck if you hope for an advance return to fix this Nintendo SNAFU in the UK.
No - Nintendo UK will deny this is due to a design fault (this is clearly defective hardware or a poorly designed firmware flashing routine that leaves the device crippled) and Nintendo UK will only fix the console under a warranty return. Best of all, the owner has to pay shipping back to Nintendo and there’s at least a 2-week turnaround.
Way to go Nintendo UK, you really do suck.
Not A Nintendo Fan Anymore,
Can you please send me an email I wanna talk about this…

MY WII IS PERFECT IT WORKS FINE SO FAR !!!!!!!!!!!!
Same here! But, I have not gotten the update!
I have had the problem with the black screen too. You put in the disc to play and it says turn off power and read your mannual. And another time it made some weird noises. So your not a lone Joe. Next thing on my to do list is call nintendo
i have my wii on wii connect24 and the orange light comes on. but it is getting warm on the top (i have mine horizontally). should be worried? some please help.
My Wii is broken
It switches on but it’s just a black screen, I can’t even eject my Zelda disc. The guy at Nintendo said I have to send it back. Unlike the US though, they won’t send me a replacement until mine has been tested, and I have to pay the postage myself. Gits
I recieved a wii for X-Mas and it works fine… sometimes. When i turn it on for the first time each day i get the message “Wii system files are corrupt, please consult the wii operations manual or call blah blah blah to fix the error” i turn it off and back on, it works fine. I just got wireless set up today and almost finished update b4 reading this site, now i not downloading till i know for sure my wii will survive. Email me if u know anything, geniusdog254@gmail.com, if u want you can have a gmail invite too.
my wii is brick i recive the same code 110213, but the problem is i live in Mexico and nintendo dont have representation here, the store only have one week to change the console, and nintendo send to my mail 6 phone number to call for reparation but no body answer in that number. so now i spend my money for a stupid wii that cant conect to internt, no virtual console, online game or opera for my. nintendo suck
I’ve been trying for 2 weeks but it still freezes when i try to update my Wii and get the Channels. (Wii system update after you get a connection) What can i do to get it to work?
i get a errorcode of 51330 and it will not connect when just days ago after the update, until today it will no longer connect, can anyone help me out please, respond to me email address if you will it is also my yahoo IM! goheax2@yahoo.com
ok now i have a new wii remplacement, i was to make a travel to Acapulco (4 hours from mi home town) but now i have a wii with all it services, this kind of error in nintendo make to think twice to buy again a console from them…. ok the zelda its great and its only for nintendo mmmm…=S
Yo my wii remote won’t respond everytime I try it just goes dead and it’s not the batteries
I’ve had my Wii about 24 hours. It works great except that about 50% of the time, when trying to return back to the main Wii menu, it freezes up. You can let it sit as long as you want, but it won’t do any thing. You have to hold the power button down for about 5 or 6 seconds to get it to shut off. Then turn it back on and it works again. There hasn’t been any problem with the Wii Sports game, just the intermittent navigating. It has even froze going to Mii Channel, it just displays a blank screen, no error message. Anyway, the bright spot was customer service. They said they would send me a replacement console right away, no hassle. Call them if you have a problem.
I have a question for anyone that received a replacement unit. Did you have any Virtual Console games downloaded before your system went bad and if so was there anyway to transfer the games to your new console? I would like to purchase a few VC games but I’m afraid that when/if my unit goes bad I will have spent that money for nothing.
got my wii today, tried to update it and it keeps crashing, cant even try and reset it because it crashes before i get the menu
Hey guys,
Sorry to here about your problems with the Wiinternet. Mine was actually working fine from Christmas till Feb 28. So I looked around and did what Aphallitosis said and it worked. But then again, the internet was pretty much the only thing freezing on mine(although it happened to blackscreen a few times before). I would check your router (assuming you have on) settings and changing the channel from 6 to 1 or 11.
I’m using a Linksys Wireless G router, if you’re wondering.
Anyway, I wish all of you good luck. And hopefully the internet is the only disappointment with the Wii.
My wii gets the error code too.(11023) does anyone recommend reformatting it or should i just get a new one. Nintendo never picks up the phone or anything.
Things better change or i will be the reason nintendo ends up like SEGA and the dreamcast.
This is messed up! im a long time fan/supporter and their screwing me like this? what did i ever do to them? Things better change!
Marvellous! That’s the site I was looking for!:)
I got my Wii in jan froze from menu to the other. …constantly disconnects from the internet….Nintendo set me a link to their web page for “problem solving” I emailed back and said I am a 32 year old woman, I know this item is defective I want a replacement. Within 24 hours they told me how to do it. So now I have a new Wii
Got mine from Amazon…. didn’t have Internet connection at time so just been playing Play and Zelda. Got Broadband… asked to update… 10 minutes for the first update. Didn’t really know what to expect so accepted it…… Second update starts… 40 minutes later only about 30% through.. another 5 and i get a 110213 error. (first Google error i find says it’s a timeout so knowing no different i reboot… second update then completes in 50 minutes. (i not fussed about time… working on VPN so thought it may be slow) Tried to access Shop… Wii freezes… Reboot… Tried shop again… get in ok… Browse games … freezes again…. Reboot…. Go into Shop..Ok… Go into weather and News…ok…. Download that free choice channel…. ok…… Wii seems fine… no problems…. Mates are adding me and connection ok……
Patience may just be the answer?!?!?
That and you’ll try pretty much anything 35hrs into Zelda ;o) lol
wow i didn’t know there were so many problems with the wii. i dont own one yet but i hope by the time i buy one it wont mess up. i have a question i use a wireless internet connection but it’s not mine i use one from a person who lives in another apartment. is it still possible for me to use wii connect 24 when i get a wii?
some one please leave a post
Marcus- yes you can use connect 24 as long as the person in the apartment doesnt turn off the wireless connection
Hi, I was able to do the update fine. The only thing I notice is that my connection is iffy. If I go to test the connection I will get 60% pass tests and 40% unable to connect. I checked my signal strength, with a laptop, and it varies between excellent and Very Good. I have used Netstumbler and put my AP on a clear channel farthest away from any other APs channels in the area (haha most of the people around me leave it on default 11 - some unencrypted). I even tried using some of the unencrypted APs around me just to see if it was a compatability problem. Same results. I have setup a dedicated AP just for the Wii. I have kept the settings pretty simple but I still get the problem. I am using an older D-Link 614+ with the latest firmware. I have 128 bit shared WEP and I don’t broadcast SSID (didn’t make a difference if I broadcast or not so I like it off) I had to manually setup the device and I set the MTU at 1500. Any Ideas?
Thanks!

My Wii’s connect24 is turned on, but when I start the forecast and news channels, they won’t start because it comes up with a message that reads… “Your Wii Connect24 is currently turned off, please confirm settings in the Wii options.”
Yet when the system is off, the orange light is on, and I can send and receive e-mails from other wii’s and e-mail addresses.
My wii connected fine once and i started dowloading a system update and it froze about 1/4 of the way. When i turned it back on and tried to connect, it said no access point was found. My friend says that when it froze, it confused the system and now it cant find the router. I even put it right by the router and did everything to try to make it connect (reformatted wii, changed channels on router, reset router, manual setup) and it still wont connect. By the way i get the error code 51030 and 51031 when i do this. And i am using a linksys WRT54G router. It connected good with full bar the first time, now it never connects. PLEASE REPLY IF YOU KNOW A SOLUTION, AND I KNOW ITS NOT TO BUY A NEW ROUTER CUZ MY 360, AND 2 PCS CAN CONNECT TO IT FROM SAME RANGE. Thanks.
i have a problem too it says that connections with the wii have been lost now this has happened before but now it cant be fixed
SAME PROBLEM BUT!!!!
When turning off my windows firewall and firefox , then reinstalling seems to work just DANDY!??? GOOD LUCK PEOPLE
yeah I had this same problem about a thousand times now XDD and heres the solution.
there is no problem with your wii trust me I’ve had these two so called “death codes” on my wii loads there is one simple answere.
after the wii updates for the first time your and my wii alike didn’t connect on the connection test after the first update right. well I solved the problem without calling nintendo, just delete your connection settings and then reconnect the wii with new settings (even if they are the same) and this should connect fine then (well mine did).
well I hope this helps and happy gaming friend.
Mine got screwed up tonight after an update.
Was playing Zelda over past few days…
Then nothing worked.
Wiimotes seemed not to funtion.
Could only turn it on the unit itself.
I ended up unplugging the unit for about 1 minute.
Working great now.
Hi I also had some problem with my console but recently I found a great tech support site that have some great solutions:
http://www.fixya.com/support/p618512-nintendo_wii_console
Now my Wii works fine, hope it helps
my wii have rare problem, i cannot go into wii settings at all, when i click the wii settings button, it doesn’t show setting screen as usual, but it show that the console seem try to browse to some web site via opera browser, and nothing i can do more even setting the internet connection, does anyone have some problem and know about the solving about this?
Has anyone had a problem with a Wii that’s been “mod” to be able to read other region’s DVD games? Mine worked fine for about 2 weeks. During which I had WC24 on and standby on also. One day it just isn’t able to read ANY DVD games, even the original Wii Sports DVD which came with it.
Has anyone heard if the WC24 updates can fry a Wii that has had a “mod” chip installed?
Also, sometimes I can connect to the Forecast channel and it gets the latest weather, but some times not. For the News Channel, I can’t seem to connect at all anymore. Used to work fine.

I have aproblem with my wii, I can conect to the internet, wiiconect24 works perfectly, I even get messages from nintendo about new updates and things, but I just can’t update. The download stops at like 2 or 3 percent.
I get an error message too, I don’t remember the error number,I think it starts with a four or something, but it says that the update could not be completed cause blabla something. I’ll try reformating the console later cause a friend borrowed my camera( with my sd obiously) and he hasn’t returned it to me yet.
Had the same problem as Himawan - When going to setup, got a message that opera cannot open some website. Got that problem when update did not finish.
Is there a way to “re-flash” or load the firmware via DVD?
does anyone knows about the Wii ac adapter problem?I bought an Wii last week…the adapter started to make noise in power off mode (red led) not really loud, on wiiconnect24 (orange led ) neither and neither when i power it on.I called Greek agency i went by, they changed my adapter and gave me a brand new one , i put it on my Wii and after 3 hours adapter started to make noise again….and i dont know what to do!!!if i go again they ll think that i make fun of them…. :/
very interesting, but I don’t agree with you
Idetrorce
well, all I can say is you’re lucky you didn’t buy an Xbox 260
what you should do is get a light thing that will reflect light off your fingers then, get your wii remote and set it on top of the light thing to where when light shines it should reflect the light off of your fingers to where you see your fingers in the top black part of the wii remote if you can see the light and your fingers go to wii settings and data managment and go and click on the SENSOR BAR setting then do the instoctions i put up there and you should be abal to see your fingers on the screen on your tv good luck! I PROMISE IT REALLY WORKS! sorry it wasen’t on your topic but this is TOTALLY COOL!
this is the same issue with me, but different from many here i don´t live on US, so i guess i´m screwed..
